[SMM Analysis] Power Conversion System (PCS) is the core equipment in energy storage systems, responsible for the bidirectional conversion between direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) to meet the charging and discharging demands of the power grid. The official website of Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) provides price information for three types of PCS, including two centralized PCS (1725kW and 2500kW) and one string PCS (215kW). Centralized PCS are more widely used in source-grid side energy storage systems. As the capacity of energy storage cells increases, the system capacity also increases accordingly. In terms of pricing, the 1725kW PCS is slightly more expensive than the 2500kW PCS, while the price of the 2500kW PCS is showing a downward trend. Although string PCS has the advantage of improving battery consistency and system reliability, its relatively high price results in a lower market penetration rate, with prices hovering around 0.11 yuan/W.
